hyperhidrosis
Excessive generalized or local production of sweat from the eccrine sweat glands. There is no abnormality of the sweat glands. It occurs when the secretion of sweat considerably exceeds the amount of sweat that defines the process of thermoregulation.
There are two types of hyperhidrosis:
- Primary hyperhidrosis, whose cause is unknown,
- Secondary hyperhidrosis, which is related to disease
(neurological, endocrinological, hypoglycemia, cancer, tuberculosis).
