The main component of Dulcosoft are macrogol 4000 (polyethylene glycol 4000), which has a high water binding capacity. It serves as a carrier for the liquid (water) and delays the intestinal absorption, thus leading to an increased amount of water in the colon.

> Painful abdominal syndromes of undetermined etiology
