The Calma C is instant drink Calcium & Magnesium with Vitamin C. When hot water is added, the form of calcium gluconate and magnesium becomes the most bio-available forms of citrate, malate and ascorbate.
The Calma C contains fruit acids (citric and malic acid), which also assists the conversion of the calcium and magnesium citrate, malic and ascorbic form. Calcium is absorbed better in the acid environment, therefore, calcium citrate is the most absorbable calcium form. No additional stomach fluids to be absorbed, so it can be taken any time of day, on an empty stomach. Calcium is absorbed in the small intestine and does not absorb the entire amount of calcium receive. The amount of calcium absorbed depends on a number of factors such as the acidic condition in the intestine, the levels of vitamin D, estrogen levels and type of calcium supplement receive.
