Folic acid is a vitamin of the B complex (vitamin B9) and its adequate reserves in the organism contribute to the preservation of important processes such as normal hematopoiesis (blood cell production) and physiological synthesis. Amino acids as well as to reduce fatigue and fatigue, normal psychological function and the proper functioning of the immune system. At the same time it has an important role in the process of cellular division while during pregnancy it helps in the development of the mother tissue. Low folates are a risk factor for the development of a faulty neural tube in the developing fetus while supplemental intake of folic acid enhances its maternal reserves. The beneficial effect refers to women who are of childbearing age and is achieved with an additional daily intake of 400 μg of folic acid for at least 4 months before conception and three month later.
