Betaine anhydrous or TMG (Trimethylglycine) is known to facilitate methylation processes. Methylation is a physiological biological process that is critical to DNA repair, liver detoxification mechanisms, lipid metabolism and the production of the SAMe. It is also an important for DNA restoration, as well as for the conversion of homocysteine, a destructive amino acid, to a more friendly amino acid, methionine. Supplementation with TMG has been shown in clinical and non-clinical studies to support healthy homocysteine levels that are already within normal range.
